In compliance with AYSO National Rules and Regulations, the Regional Board of Directors of AYSO Region 60 announces the opening of the application period for the position of Regional Commissioner for a 3 year term. The position of Regional Commissioner is the person charged with the daily operation of the local AYSO region. The Regional Commissioner position requires a volunteer time commitment averaging 20+ hours per week. During the months of the primary and secondary program hours can increase depending on program requirements, meetings and special events.
Qualifications to be eligible to nominate yourself, or be nominated for this position, are that you are (preferably) a current or past Regional Board member or a registered volunteer, in good standing with the organization.
The process is to have open nominations (via email) to the Nomination Committee (NC) via the Nomination Committee Chair (NCC), Jill Terry. The NC will consist of three Board Members, Jill Terry, Jim Jaime & Steve Perry. The NC will then vet each of the candidates for eligibility and as a volunteer in AYSO in good standing. At the conclusion of the open nomination time period, the NC will send the candidates applications to the Voting Members of Regional Board (Executive Voting Committee – 24 members) for review. The Area Director will then conduct an election to vote on who will be the Regional Commissioner. Once that is complete, the Area Director will forward to the Section Director and then to the AYSO National Board of Directors for approval.
The current term for AYSO Region 60 Regional Commissioner , Manny Olea will end in October 2024. The nomination period is open now and will close July 25, 2024. It is anticipated that the vote will occur August 1, 2024 and the Voting Members of Regional Board (Executive Voting Committee – 24 current voting members) in place at the time of the open nominations will be eligible to vote.
