Thank you for volunteering in AYSO Region 60!  As an organization that runs on volunteer power, it is critical that we have robust and user-friendly processes for screening and approving our volunteers. Here are a few important items to know about volunteering in AYSO:

• Volunteer approval is needed on an annual basis.
• Every new AYSO volunteer must complete one volunteer application and be approved, before conducting any volunteer activities in the upcoming year.
• Returning AYSO volunteers approved in prior years, must also complete one volunteer application and be approved, before conducting any volunteer activities in the upcoming year.
• Background checks are required for all volunteers, as listed in attachments below.
• Once an individual is approved to volunteer, the annual approval covers all AYSO sanctioned activities during the period from August 1 to July 31.
• This includes every coach, assistant coach, referee, team manager, board member, etc.
• For those volunteers planning to be in more than one role (e.g. coach + referee, board member + team manager, etc.), you only need to complete the volunteer application and be approved once for the upcoming year.
• The volunteer application is submitted electronically to AYSO National, who then completes a background check and approves the individual to volunteer.
• AYSO National sends approval notices to the individual volunteer, to our Region 60 Regional Commissioner, and to our CVPA.

Step 1:  Complete one volunteer application using AYSO’s electronic registration system and receive approval before conducting any volunteer activities in the upcoming year.
