Program FAQ

Q: Who is going to be my child's coach?
A:  Coaches are all volunteer parents, guardians or 18+ AYSO volunteers. The coach or team manager will contact you via email or phone once teams are formed. If you don't hear from anyone by August 1, 2023, please contact your division commissioner which can be found on our Regional Board webpage.

Q: When and where are practices?
A:  All practices must take place on fields during the days and times for which our Region holds a city permit for. Practice days, start times, and length of the practice vary depending on the division and coach availability. Practices can be held at parks in the cities of Alhambra or Monterey Park and games will be at Almansor Park.

Q: When does the season start/end?
A: Practices start in August for most divisions. Games for the Core program typically begin the weekend after Labor Day, and end before the Thanksgiving holiday.

Q: Where and when are the games?
A:  Schoolyard (5U) through 12U, games are typically at Almansor Park on Saturdays and Sundays for 12U between 8:00 am - 4:00 pm; starting times vary week to week. For 14U through 19U, there may be travel involved, usually in the surrounding cities (e.g. Pasadena, San Gabriel, El Monte, etc.). These divisions may play on Sundays.

Q: How can I help AYSO Region 60?
A: Thank you for considering to volunteer for AYSO. We are always in need of coaches, assistant coaches, referees, and other important positions throughout the season. AYSO has a great training program, no experience is necessary - only the desire. For more information, contact our CVPA ([email protected]), contact your division commissioner, and check out the following:

Q: If I volunteer can I pick who I volunteer with?
A: We are unable to grant specific requests to be paired up with other volunteers. While this may not appear to affect others it does affect the process of building balanced teams for fair play.

You can find many answers to your questions in our Region 60 Governing documents. [click here]

Registration FAQ

Q: When can I register my child for the Core Program?
A: Registration opens on March 15.

Q: How do I register my child?
A: Registration is completed through our secure mobile-friendly website, including on-line payments and uploading documents such as birth certificates and player photos.  Start by selecting the "My Account" button on the upper right side of our website.

Q: Why can't I move on to the next page in the registration process?
A: Its important to answer all questions before saving or moving to the next page. All questions, player picture and proof of birth need to be uploaded to create an account and player profile. If on a mobile device make sure to scroll up/down and side/side on the page.

Q: I completed my child's registration.  Now what?
A:  It is our goal that parents be contacted by their team's coach or team manager by late July or early August.  It is a significant effort to organize each season. This includes recruiting the required number of volunteer coaches, referees, and team managers, organizing and training volunteers, evaluating players, forming balanced teams, ordering uniforms and practice equipment, etc.  Only after many of these tasks are completed can coaches begin contacting their team to arrange a team meeting and hold practices.

Q: Why is my child wait listed?
A: All players are wait listed until we have enough certified volunteer coaches and referees. Once the Division Commissioner identifies enough volunteers, players will be activated for the season. Parents will receive an email informing them that their player has been activated and payment is now due.

If you are interested in volunteering to be a coach or referee, please reach out to our team at [email protected]. You can find the names and contact info on our website under Board Members.

Q: I need to get a refund. How do I go about it?
A: To see our refund policy, click here.
