AYSO region 214, 13 & 2 along with FC golden state, Santa Anita Soccer Club and LA Surf have joined together to aid in gathering supplies for those affected by the Eaton Fire. We all have seen the destruction this fire has caused and many of us either know families or have been directly affected by this catastrophe.
Although many local organizations are also collecting supplies, the need will remain in the weeks following as families who have been displaced continue to pick up the pieces.
If you would like to help, an Amazon registry wishlist has been created for common items that will be needed:
We will be setting up a local drop off location next weekend where items can be collected and families in need can come by to pick up. Any items left over will be donated to a local evacuation center. Location will be announced soon as we find a central location. If you aren’t able to make it to the event, you can opt to ship items from the amazon registry which will go to a default address to be included with the other donations.
In support of our soccer community, we are also looking for donations of new or used soccer equipment. This is the time to look through your kid’s gear that they have outgrown. We are looking for old jerseys, cleats, balls etc. As families evacuated, these items were not essentials however for many in our community, soccer is life! Let’s bring some joy and little normalcy back to our soccer community.
Please stay tuned for more updates on details of when and where you can drop off donations. Thank you for your support!
