Region 60 takes home Championship medals at the 2024 Downey Kick-off Tournament!!!

The 2024 Downey Classic was held on March 2nd and 3rd, 2024.  Region 60 fielded teams in many Divisions, including GU8, GU12, BU10, BU12 and BU14.  Full results can be found here: Tournament website.

All our teams were successful, and our GU8 team coached by Jay Yao won the Championship in their division!!! After the tournament, coach Yao shared the following with us:

“I am thrilled to share with you the fantastic news of our recent success! Our girls have once again demonstrated remarkable progress compared to the Turkey Tournament they participated in a few months ago.  Their development in individual skills, tactical execution, and teamwork has been truly impressive.  This advancement can be closely linked to the achievements of both Alhambra teams in the recent Grad Series.   I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the region for offering such invaluable opportunities for our girls’ growth and development.

Furthermore, our outstanding performance has left a lasting impression on several other regions this weekend.  As a result, we have been graciously invited to participate in several 8U tournaments over the next few months.  This recognition speaks volumes about the hard work and dedication of our team. Let’s continue to strive for excellence and look forward to more successful tournaments in the future.”
