2023 AYSO SECTION 1:   19UB UPPER DIVISION CHAMPIONS!!!

AYSO Section 1 coordinates the Upper Division Playoffs involving 16U and 19U teams from across Southern California.  Section 1 includes 11 different Areas and 65 different regions from Beach Cities, West Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Riverside, East San Gabriel, and us in the West San Gabriel Valley.

The 16U and 19U Playoffs consist of the Division Champions from each of the 11 Areas [click here for a full list], plus 1 Finalist.   The Playoffs for each division involve 12-teams total, divided into four (4) pools of three (3) teams each.  Only the winners of each pool advance to the single elimination Semi-Finals, followed by either a Third Place or Championship Match.  On Saturday and Sunday, November 11-12, 2023, AYSO Alhambra’s 19U Boys won the championship, and our 16U Girls won 4th place.

2023 AYSO AREA 1C: UPPER DIVISION TRIUMPHS!!!

AYSO Area 1C coordinates the Upper Division Program involving 16U and 19U inter-regional play in the West San Gabriel Valley between nine AYSO regions: Alhambra, Arcadia, Boyle Heights, Glendale, Pasadena, San Gabriel, South El Monte, South Pasadena and Temple City. 

One of Area 1C’s main programs is the Upper Division, where boys and girls 16U and 19U teams compete in a 10-game season in order to qualify for playoffs.  Upper Division Playoffs are a single-elimination format (win or go home) in each division.  On Sunday, November 5, 2023, AYSO Alhambra won the championships in 16U Girls and 19U Boys, and we were the Finalists in 19U Girls.

Each of these teams also advanced to the Section 1 16U/19U Playoff Tournament, when on November 11 and 12, 2023 they competed against other Area champions from all across Southern California.

Region 60 is so proud of all our Upper Division teams!!!  All of this is only possible due to the dedication of our volunteer coaches, referees, and team managers.  We sincerely thank you all!!!
